We are home from Quilt Market, and as we unpacked on Tuesday we came to the realization that on Friday is November 1st.  Which means we need to have the Label Crew kits out.  Yikes.  We haven't even shown you the project.  

But by some miracle, we actually got them out today- one day early!  But we still haven't shown you what the project is.  

Have you ever had company over for dinner and been completely embarrassed about the state of your pot holders?  Well I have.  They are old, stained and have definitely seen better days.  Which is why I'm taking these.

Just in time for Thanksgiving.  Did I say Thanksgiving?  It's Halloween!  And here is my little minion:

Speaking of holidays, I will throw in one more.  Christmas.  Our biggest event of the year, Sweetwater's 12 Days of Christmas begins Monday.   Yes, Monday!  We can't wait to show you this year's projects!

Just a quick little post before we leave for Houston!  Our new Wishes patterns got done in the nick of time before we board the plane to Quilt Market. They are now available for download on our Etsy shop.  Here is a little recap of them -

Almost There...

We have just a few hours before we leave for Quilt Market in Houston.  And when the plane takes off, that is when we can exhale.  It is wayyyyyy more work getting there than actually being there!

If you are going to be there, please stop and see us in the Moda Designer's Booth. Not only will you be able to see what is new with all the Moda designers, we are giving away....a whole lot of things.  Here is just a sample of the prizes:

We will also have fat quarters, patterns and other surprises you will have a chance to win.  But...the best prize of all is our Jelly Roll quilt:

Now, here is how you can win.  We all know that everyone (well almost everyone) has a smart phone. And when you are at market, everybody is on their phone.  From taking a zillion photos to texting or checking your Instagram.  And even sometimes, we actually talk on our phones!  So you are going to use that phone to help you win.  

Here is what you need to do:

1.  First, make sure you follow us on Instagram.  We are @sweetwaterfabric

2.  During market, take photos of anything you see Sweetwater related.  It could be you in our booth, a quilt with Sweetwater fabric, a pattern- anything you come across.  

3.  Post your photos on Instagram and make sure to use the hashtag #sweetwaterquiltmarket.

4.  At 2:00 PM on Sunday, we will choose winners randomly at our booth, using your Instagram photos.  So the more photos you post, the better chance you have to win!  You must be present at our booth to win.

If you don't use Instagram or have questions about it, please stop by and see us at the Moda Designer booth.  We will get you set up.  And then you will become addicted.  Like the rest of us!

Also, you don't have to be a store owner to win.  If you are going just to enjoy the show, or even if you are another Moda designer and you would like to win that quilt, you are welcome to play along!

One More Quilt...

We have one more Wishes quilt to show you.  It isn't a new pattern, but because this Authentic Jelly Roll quilt was so popular, we decided to do it in Wishes, too.

What were we thinking?????

Quilt Market is only about 1 week away and we decide to introduce a new line of products from Sweetwater.  Yes, I repeat what were we thinking????  I guess we were thinking we love this new product soooo much that we can't wait.  So here it is ...........................................

a new line of ink swatches (that is our name for these 18"x18" canvas panels).  If you know Sweetwater you know that we love words and that we love to be creative with words.  Our solution to help us be creative with words are these ink swatches -

These swatches all measure 18"x18" and are silk screened on canvas duck cloth.  Our creative process with these swatches led us to these projects -

and Memo Boards

We are going to be selling each one of the ink swatches (18"x18" canvas panel) separately. Included with each of the ink swatches will be a project sheet with instructions on how to complete the pillow, bag, and memo board.  The possibilites are endless with these ink swatches.  From time to time we will be coming out with new patterns featuring our new swatches and of course we will be coming out with new ink swatches as well - be on the lookout!  For now you can get a jump start on your Christmas projects with these ink swatches. For those of you who have trouble finding Canvas Duck Cloth we will also be selling 1/2 yd pieces of that as well.  You can find all of our new items on our Etsy site.  We hope you have as much fun with these as we are!!

 

It finally stopped...

The wind.  It finally stopped.  For about 36 seconds.  Just long enough for me to finish up photos of our new Wishes quilts!  Here they are:

I didn't get a good picture of the whole quilt (the wind wasn't that cooperative), so here is the digital version of Centerpiece:

As usual, you can pre-order a quilt kit for any of these.  If you aren't familair with how it works, here is what you do.  To reserve a kit, simply purchase it at our store.  You will pay for 1/2 the kit now, and 1/2 the kit when we ship in January.  You will be billed right before we ship (as soon as we get the Wishes fabric) for 1/2 the kit plus the correct amount of shipping, depending upon where you live and what kit(s) you order.  

This has been working great because everyone that wants a kit will be able to get one, and we will know how much fabric to order.  The only thing to remember is that you have just about a week to pre-order. After that, we can't guarantee that you will get a kit if you want one.

You will also have the option of ordering the backing separately for each quilt.  This works the same- pay for 1/2 now and 1/2 in January.  And just think about January.  This quilt kit may be a breath of fresh air as we all (well mostly all of us) will be in the middle of Winter.  Ugh.  Don't even want to think about it!

If you want to order just the pattern, please keep in mind that they will be ready in a few weeks.  We will make sure to let you know when.  

And speaking of the patterns, if you want to win all of them, just leave us a comment telling us which one is your favorite.  I definitely know which one is mine.  As usual, it is the same one as my sister's.  We have both claimed it, but this time I am really hoping I will be able to take it home with me! (We always do a drawing to see who gets what, and for some reason, she always seems to be the lucky winner.  She, of course, would disagree with me.)  By the way, our favorite is Borderline.  I have a new chevron rug for my living room that matches the blue perfectly in the quilt.  But.... my sister's bedroom is all done in that very same blue and cream.  So someone is going to be very happy!

This weather

inspired me to create some new quilt labels

Probably because the cold weather forced me to stay in my nice cozy office.  We have them ready to order in our Etsy shop.  You will receive all 12 labels with one personalized name.  We have a variety of colors to choose from.  Here's hoping you are staying warm today!!
