Albums for the House!

We finally finished up our albums for Sweetwater House.  Here are a few sneak peeks at some of the projects.  There are more photos on our website, as well as the photos required to complete each album.

 

We are so excited about the house!  We are almost done with the "hard" stuff- ripping out flooring, painting, laying sod, bricking a wall etc.  Our contractor should be done by the end of the week- which means we are about ready to decorate!  We have just over 2 weeks till the open house, and we are determined to have everything perfect before Septmeber 15th.  Here are some more pictures of what you can see at the house.

our dessert plates that we picked up at Crate and Barrel for the house.  We absolutely love them!

These will be so cute and fun to have dessert on. We went school shopping on Tuesday and of course we always have to pick something up for the house.  At supper my daughter said, "Can we talk about something other than the house?"  I think we will all be glad when the renovations are completed.

The wood and tile floors have been installed.  Today they are sanding and staining the wood floor and tomorrow they are varnishing them.  We can't go in and see them until everything is dry.  So we will try and post a picture soon.  We also are having the trim painted on the house today and my darling husband is putting in a sprinkler system for the back yard.  It is so fun to see progress being made!

Back To Work!

Okay- we had a week at the fair (well some of us did) and we had to get back to work today.  Unfortunately, all of us here at Sweetwater (except the kids!) had Pink Eye-some worse than others- for the greater part of the last two weeks.  So after 4 different antibiotics, 3 trips to the doctor and one visit to the ER, we have all recovered and feel much better this week.

Unfortunately, there is a whole lot of work to, so there is no time to relax.  Last week, the workers started laying our Travertine floors in the bathrooms, and today, the hardwood floors are being installed.  There is a lot of area to do, so it will take them more than a week to get all the floors done.  We will post pictures of the progress. 

Dan and Susan have been busy with the landscaping project- here are photos of the black iron fence in the front yard and the privacy fence (which extends to the back yard) they installed.  We don't know what we would do without Dan (Susan's husband).  Although he is an absolute perfectionist and drives Susan crazy about every little detail, we appreciate all his hard work!

We are busy creating our make- and- take projects for our exciting open house on September 15th.  Don't forget- there are only 2 days left to make a reservation for the house if you want to be entered in the drawing for a free stay.  Hope you enjoy the photos, we will get more up soon!

Fair Week

It is finally here.......My most favorite week of the whole year - fair week. Our county fair starts this coming week and I look forward to it every year.  I know that we are not going to get any painting or staining done on the house but we do have the majority of it done so we are feeling pretty good about that.  Just wanted to let you know that yes we are still working on the house but I am not sure if we will get anything posted next week.  Hopefully, we will have time to take pictures of the inside of the house so that you can see all that we have been doing.
