Rooms

We have taken some pictures of some items that will be in each of the bedrooms.  There will be 4 bedrooms.  The loft which is located on the 3rd floor will sleep 6 people and  we will  be using some of our very own Sunwashed fabric.  We have posted a previous picture of the fabric but here is one with some pillows and the headboard that will be in the loft.

                                                   

Rooms 1 and 3 are located on the 2nd floor and will sleep 4 and 3 people.  The colors in these 2 rooms will mostly be white and tan.

                                                         

We have made white linen pillows and a smaller pillow that says "Sweet Dreams" For these rooms.

                                                 

Room 2 is located on the 2nd floor as well and will sleep 2 people.  The colors that will be used in this room will be black and chocolate brown. 

                                             

We hope to have everything set up to start reserving your space for the Sweetwater House sometime next week.  So please keep checking back!

Nametag

We have made these cute nametags that will be given to everyone who comes to the Sweetwater House. Each necklace will be custom made.  The green charm is actually taken from one of our newest paper lines called Cotton Candy.  We love these necklaces and hope everyone else will too!  We do have plans to start making some custom necklaces and bracelets out of our paper designs.  We will be showcasing all of them at the CHA show in July.  Here are some more pictures of the necklaces and bracelets -

Good Stuff

Well after a very HOT day on Friday, we did manage to pick up a few things for the house.
We learned a very good lessson.  If you like it and it is reasonably priced, BUY IT!  We did find a table we wanted but thought, "Lets look around, we might find something better".  Well, we went back to get it and it was gone!  We did find this 6'6" wooden table that is pictured to the left.  I love this table and it will go in the kitchen.  We also found some wire plant holders at the show.  The rest of the pieces are odds and ends that we have found a variety of different places. We also managed to pick up a table that will be used for our beverage cart.  We needed it to have a shelf underneath of it so that we could store cups, etc on it.  We thought we would never be able to find something like that, but we did!  We think it will work perfectly for what we need.  We also managed to pick up pillows, sheets, and coffee pots, and silverware.  We were looking at glasses and none of us could agree, so we put them all back and decided to try another day.  Sometimes it is just impossible for us all to have the same idea (even on something as simple as glasses, OH WELL!)  We will be making throw pillows for the beds and purchased some linen fabric to make them out of.  We do have one of the beds almost completed and will post a picture of the finished product.

Beds

We have decided to make 6 of the 15 headboards out of old doors. We will be putting 4x4's on each side
of the headboards and then painting it all white.  These beds will be used on the third floor with the brighter colors.  The beds will have kind of a cottage look.  Hopefully we will have a picture of the finished project to post soon!  We are all going to an antique show this weekend to find some furniture for the house.  We will post those pictures too.  We plan on bringing in contemporary and antique pieces of furniture to give the house a unique feel and look. 

Carpenter Bob is at the house today tearing down kitchen walls.  All of the walls are plaster and lathes (talk about a mess) and he will be hanging dry wall in the kitchen to replace it all.  Bob is also taking out a window that was between the kitchen and dining room so that we can brick the wall.  The brick is beautiful and is called English Pub.  I wish I could do this in my house - but for now all our extra time (and money) will be spent on the Sweetwater House.  Right now the house probably looks worse than when we started.  But, I guess it has to look bad before it will look good.

Products.....

We just got these in from Maya Road.   We absolutely love their products and plan on using some of them for our projects that we will create at the Sweetwater House.  We don't have all of the projects decided upon yet, but we will start posting them when we know what we will be doing.  We have 4 new lines that are coming out at CHA and we are pretty sure those will be used too! 

Will The Old Painted Door Look New Again???

We sure hope so!  After many hours of scraping multiple layers of old paint off of the front door, we finally are done stripping it. Once the paint started to come off, we noticed a beautiful wreath that was on the door.  It is amazing what you will find once the paint is off.  All we have left is to stain and varnish it.  We are in the process of discussing plans for the bathrooms upstairs and the best possible location for them. 

The backyard right now is just gravel that is used as a parking lot.  We will have plenty of parking available, so we are enclosing it with a privacy fence.  In the backyard we hope to put up a gazebo, firepit, and many flower beds.We looked at the fencing and I think we have it pretty much narrowed down.  Now for the scary part - the quote.  Once we have the quote done we will probably start working on it.  All of us really do like yard work so it might be a fight as to who gets to stay outside and who has to be stuck inside with a paint brush.

Colors Chosen

We have decided upon the colors of one of the bedrooms for the Sweetwater House.  We just received our new fabric line called Sunwashed that goes perfectly with our paper line of the same name that was released a couple summers ago.  We made pillows out of the fabric and plan on making coordinating bed skirts.  All of the bedspreads will be white in this room.  This is for the big room on the 3rd floor - we wanted to brighten the room up and I really think this will do the trick.  We plan on framing some of the sunwashed papers and hanging them on the walls.  There will be 3 other bedrooms that will be used in the house for sleeping.  Once we have those colors picked out we will post those too!  The other rooms will probably have more of a subdued tone. 

We met with the contractor yesterday and he said everything was ready to begin.  He plans on tearing into one of the bathrooms next week.  This weekend we will be stripping paint off the front door, looking at vinyl fencing, tearing out cupboards, and laying pavers in the front yard - Sounds Like FUN!!
